  1. Greetings from St Louis, Missouri USA I'm using and learning C++ Builder 11 professional. I want to make a windows app that displays telemetry data from a zigbee gateway on the local internal subnet. It sends periodic telemetry base64 data via (I'm guessing...) jason/ajax. The zigbee gateway has a web page "http://" + ip + "/debug.html" that displayes the zigbeeData in a scrolling window. That scrolling windows is the only data that I want to to capture. I'm wondering if there are a few drop in components I can use to setup / collect json/ajax pairs from a web server on the local subnet ? What is the easiest way to setup a pipe to collect this (presumably JSON) zigbeeData ? What Rad Studio components should I look for ? I know how to process the base64 data. I wrote the embedded zigbee code which does that part. This "zigbee gateway" I have all the source code for it. Its a microchip ethernet gateway with a mini TCP stack. Its handing it off to a mini web server that I did not write. Attached is ajax.xml, debug.html (what I did not write) and a picture of a web browser displaying the base64 strings in a scrolling window. I just need help with how to use C++ Builder 11 professional to it collect it from "http://" + ip + "/debug.html" I'm a C/C++ software engineer with many years experience doing low level C/C++ programing. I've been using Borland,Inprise,Radstudio C++ for high level programming and then lots of embedded compilers for embdedded apps. I'm very familar with TCP and berkley sockets. I don't know much about Web gets, puts, json or java. I presume some sort of layer uses a TCP port to send/receive packets. I know how to find the local IP address of the gateway using Dns GetHostName API. I presume the IP will be "pluged" in to something. Hopefully a RAD Studio component that I drop on a form, define the json fields/pairs and then set the ip address. Do you have any suggestions, tips recommendations ? Best regards Dan ajax.xml debug.htm

    VCL - DevExpress

Hey there, It's Mert, newest guy at the forum. Saw that community is talking for important topics. I would like to ask a question to you all. First of all, I asked it first to @ertank , He answered me with significant words. I appreciate it. Me and my team jumped to C++Builder 11.2 about 1 month ago. We were using Embarcadero's previous versions but we want to add new features to our project with new developed components. Everybody know that DevExpress is also developing lovely components to VCL environment. My question is; if we take away DevExpress cost, is it most likely necessary to use and build our project with DevExpress components. What's about Embarcadero's own developed components vs DevExpress features? Is Embarcadero doing good job with their new components or are they not caring enough? On the other hand, what's about DevExpress VCL features? Waiting comments from you all. Thanks.
  5. Dear Forum Members, I've been using the o2cPlayer.ocx (1.9.9.165 - 32bit) component in my projects since Delphi 6 and have not had a problem until RAD Studio 11.1 (I'm running 11.2 Patch 1). It works in RAD Studio 11.0 and 10.4 Update 2. After installing the component, when I try to place the control on a new form, Delphi hangs for a moment, then the program closes without an error. The same behavior occurs if I create a C++ package and try to place the component on a C++ project form. I've been able to replicate this problem with a clean installation of RAD Studio 11 on two different Windows 11 Pro machines and a Windows 10 Pro computer. Embarcadero Support has been giving me suggestions over the past few weeks but none of them have worked. They have not been able to reproduce the error in-house. I'd appreciate any suggestions or confirmation that this is a new issue with RAD Studio 11. To resolve the issue, I've tried recreating and installing the component after... Deleting the registry node HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Embarcadero\BDS\22.0. Running RAD Studio 'As Administrator'. Creating a new Administrator account on my local machine and logging in as that user. Deleting C:\Users<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Embarcadero\BDS\22.0. I also looked at Windows Controlled Folder Access but it is not accessible because Norton or Bitdefender are running. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide. MFM O2CPlayer.zip
  6. Issue/Problem: when deploying an app to android that has the: (camera, json, or barcode components on a form) the app starts up with a black screen flame and hangs and closes down. Has anyone tried the trial version of TMS FNC WX Pack Android? -- link: https://www.tmssoftware.com/site/tmsfncwxpack.asp I have been having a difficult time with the trial version v1.5.1.0 (via Getit) working on my smartphone with Android 10, using Delphi 11.2 Alexandria Professional under Windows 7 and also Windows 10 laptops. The trial version states to set it in release mode (For mobile device deployment, the trial version supports deploying in release mode only) which I have done, but after the app is deployed I still have a black screen with the Delphi flame and it eventually closes whenever click out of the screen. I am hoping that someone with similar experience knows how to resolve this issue. I would really appreciate the help. Thank you.

    Tag editor?

Hi, Before I start trying to create one myself, does anyone here know an FMX component to use tags with add, delete, move functionalities. Something looking like (a little cross to delete next to each tag text would be nice) or from this forum Thanks for any help. Steve

    ANN: sgcBiometrics 1.4

sgcBiometrics is a package based on Microsoft Windows Biometric Framework, which support the consistent development and management of biometric devices such as fingerprint readers. Package can access to 2 different type of Pool Sensors: System Pool Sensor: A collection of sharable biometric units that provide access to Windows authentication services. This pool is used by Winlogon, UAC, and any other client that associates a SID with a specific biometric template. Each biometric service provider has one system sensor pool. Private Pool Sensor: A collection of biometric units allocated for exclusive use by a client application. Private pools can support authentication scenarios that are not Windows-based, and they make it possible for an application to access the hardware of a biometric unit in a vendor-defined fashion (example: user login to an application like ERP). Latest changes: - New Method to enumerate enrollments (example: if thumb and index right fingers are already registered or not). Read more - New Component TsgcWinBioUsersINI which allows associate users to fingerprints. Read more Editions supported: - From Delphi 7 to Delphi 10.3 Rio - From CBuilder 2010 to CBuilder 10.3 Rio More info: https://www.esegece.com/biometrics Download You can download an already compiled demo which shows main features. A Fingerprint reader with support for WBF (example: compatible with Windows Hello) is required and Windows 7 or later. https://www.esegece.com/download/sgcBiometrics.zip
  9. I want to develop an own component for TCombobox. It should work like this: 1. User type something in the field2. User type magic keys, in my case ",," to trigger the search for typed characters3. My event OnTrig is called. That search in SQL in the database for the characters. So this can be any tables in the database and is customized per instance of the component.4. The list of hits is displayed in the combobox. If too many the first 99 hits is displayed5. The user picks one of the hits in the combobox. Now the event OnPick is triggered. That is, of course, different per instance and transform the hit to an object in application. Now could you give some general advice about how I should proceed? I have bought Devexpress VCL components so have source for that. Maybe better to use any of those comboboxes as base? Regards Roland Bengtsson

  11. Hi, I've created two new components based on TImageList and TImage in FMX. The new components load images from a directory during design and in run-time. Please have a look here: https://github.com/jkour/neImageTools Thanks
