    Reinstall Old Version

    So I went to reinstall an old licensed version of Delphi 10.3.2. In days gone by it was always possible to download the old installers. Now I get the following (see photo). Is this still possible? It's been years since I've had to do this. I have no intention of purchasing an update subscription for a simple reinstall. Thanks, John

    Upgrading EurekaLog for Delphi 12

    I purchased "EurekaLog_7.11.0.1_Enterprise_for_RAD_Studio" with source code on January 21, 2021. The subscription ran out a year later. Since I purchased source code I decided to upgade EurekaLog so it would work with Rad Studio 12 Athens. To do this: I copied the Studio28 folder in the projects directory to Studio29. In the *.dpk and *.dproj files I replaced 28 with 29. In the "\Neos Eureka S.r.l\EurekaLog 7\Source\Common" directory I modified "ElDefines.inc" to add Delphi 12. With these changes "EurekaLogGroup.groupproj" successfully compiles and in the packages directory a new folder appears "Studio29". This folder is filled with the 290 bpl files and other files. When I try to install the packages I get the following message: "Can't load package E:\Installs\Studio29\EurekaLogExpert290.bpl. The specified module could not be found." The bpl's are there.     Upgrading from 11.2 to 11.3

    Hi I have had extremely bad experiences upgrading from one minor version to another. I have these questions, if anyone is willing to help. 1. if I upgrade from, in this case, 11.2 to 11.3, after upgrading do I need to re-install all 3rd party products and my own packages? 2. Do I need to UNINSTALL the old version, or is it better to NOT uninstall it? From the windows for the installation I get contradictory suggestions: it first says "you need to uninstall", but then the NO radio button is checked by default
  4. I've known of CodeSite for years, but I'm afraid not about CodeSite. And now that I know more, I could really put its logging to use rather than my cobbled-together and code-modifying techniques. Except, the GetIt installer runs and installs CodeSite to the catalog repository just fine, but it doesn't add it to the IDE (11.3). I have also run the installer from the catalog repository -- it's just a Windows installer -- but that also yields no love. I'm guessing the package version, from September 2022, doesn't know about this version of the IDE. It's Windows 10, and I give the OS admin-level credentials in my install efforts. Is there anything to be done? Thanks in advance for hints.

During install of Alexandria 11.1 onto a clean VM, (no prior Delphi version) with a Network Named license I am getting the message "Operation error - EULA declined" after selecting the platforms and optional components to install. I have updated the slip files by going through the ELC host license procedure and I can import those slip files during the installation without a problem. Of course I also make sure to tick the checkbox to agree to the license agreement during the install.
  6. Hello, I have a new workstation and want to install my Delphi RAD 10.3 community version on that new workstation. I deleted my workstation license on my OLD workstation first. Now when I install Delphi RAD 10.3 on my NEW workstation, and I use the serial key for Delphi 10.3, I get te following error/message: The registration limit for this serial number has been reached. So how can I install Delphi 10.3 on my NEW workstation with the software and key I already received.? Is there a way to do it? Thanks Hans
  7. I have downloaded RADStudio-1042-4203 CE. it stops on Problem loading data...the file does not exist. I have researched this. Most posts say to use GetIt Man directly. One post said to run GetItCmd.exe -c=useonline. I did that but the install still failed. Since I had to uninstall the previous code I do not have access to GetIt. Does anyone know when this will be fixed? Is there a work-around so that I can get Delphi installed?
  8. I installed the community edition recently and have only installed a couple additional components so far. Before adding more I was curious about your strategies for backing up your installs. I find it useful to wipe my hard drive and reinstall Windows every year or two. I would not look forward to reinstalling not only Delphi but also the added components (and custom settings). The last time I had Delphi (Delphi 2005) I did everything in a virtual machine, which I backed up as a single file. I’m just curious whether other ways exist now, 15 years later.

    Delphi 10.4 intallation/activation

    Hello. I've just tried to install D10.4 on a new laptop and was delighted to be told I had exceeded the maximum number of installs permitted. I find this slightly difficult to believe as I've onlyy installed it once, on the laptop I'm replacing. Does anyone know if EMBA's servers actually operate at the weekend (it's Saturday @ 18:25 as I write). Not so long age they never seemed to work at the weekend so I gave up trying. Thanks, Martyn
  10. Hi there, usually VmWare provides install procedure very nicely: download Macos installer .app from AppStore, then create new VM and drop it into. This works on some Mac, but seems not to work on all Mac's, for some reasons only Apple knows. I had such case with an older MacBook Pro, and wanted to describe the procedure below. After some search in the Web I found a nice article about same issue with Mojave, so I took this as base. Since I'M on Catalina, I had to make some changes. Here are the steps in compressed form: Create VmWare Macos guest from ISO (Catalina) Web : Search "Update Macos Catalina" (or the OS you'll want), to find the right entry in the AppStore AppStore: Download "Install Macos Catalina.app" from AppStore. After download: Cancel the auto-start of installation on the host. Host : /Applications not always usable, as this is a special protected folder. Move "Install Macos Catalina.app" from /Applications to /Documents folder. VmWare : Select “Apple OS X” and then select “macOS 10.15” and Continue. VmWare : Choose “Create a new virtual disk” and continue. Either Finish or Customise Settings of the virtual machine. (e.g. 4 CPU, RAM 4GB, no 3D acceleration, Use full retina display, HD 60GB, etc.) The VM is prepared now, its needed to create a OSX Catalina ISO file. Host : Prepare a OSX Catalina ISO file from the installer. Terminal : Create a temporary virtual disk file in your tmp directory. hdiutil create -o /tmp/Catalina.cdr -size 12000m -layout SPUD -fs HFS+J Wait until finished created: /tmp/Catalina.cdr.dmg Terminal : When done, attach and mount the virtual disk hdiutil attach /tmp/Catalina.cdr.dmg -noverify -mountpoint /Volumes/install_build Wait until finished /dev/disk3 Apple_partition_scheme /dev/disk3s1 Apple_partition_map /dev/disk3s2 Apple_HFS /Volumes/install_build Terminal: [Optional] Check all available mountpoints diskutil list Host : Rename the installer, to be compatible with the following scripts, e.g. by Finder. ren "~/Documents/Install Macos Catalina.app" ~/Documents/MacosInstaller.app Installer is available now under the path: ~/Documents/macOsInstall.app Terminal : Extract and create an installable image from the download (with elevated rights). sudo ~/Documents/macOsInstall.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/install_build Wait until finished Password: Ready to start. To continue we need to erase the volume at /Volumes/install_build. If you wish to continue type (Y) then press return: y Erasing disk: 0%... 10%... 20%... 30%... 100% Copying to disk: 0%... 10%... 20%... 30%... 40%... 50%... 60%... 70%... 80%... 90%... 100% Making disk bootable... Copying boot files... Termnal : Convert the newly created “InstallSystem.dmg” into an .iso file. hdiutil convert ~/Documents/InstallSystem.dmg -format UDTO -o ~/Documents/InstallSystem.iso Wait until finished Driver Descriptor Map (DDM : 0) read … Apple (Apple_partition_map : 1) read … (Apple_Free : 2) read … disk image (Apple_HFS : 3) read … .............................................................................. Time: 1m 39.113s Speed: 121.1M Byte/s Reduction: 0.0 % created: /Users/Rollo/Documents/InstallSystem.iso.cdr Host : Change the filetype of the file “InstallSystem.iso.cdr” in your documents, e.g. with Finder. Select the file and hit enter, now rename the file to “InstallSystem.iso” (with prompt); Select “Use .iso” VMware : In virtual machine manager right click the newly created VM (see above). Choose settings. VMware : Choose “CD/DVD (SATA)” Next GoTO the pull-down menu and browse to the “InstallSystem.iso” file just created. Check “CD/DVD (SATA)” connect checkbox VMware : Boot the new machine and follow Apple installation instructions. These steps worked well for me, and are maybe useful for somebody else too. Maybe in the new VmWare installer provide the Drag'n'Drop for all images flawlessly, in the future, and this won't be necessary any more.
