The Delphi WSDL Importer has done an impressive job of taking a (local) WSDL file and generating some very useful code (that almost works!) To debug, I have looked at the outgoing request with Fiddler, and based on this, I've been able to alter the WSDL file to effect a required change in the request header. However, the problem remains that Delphi is generating a tag with "NAV_CustomerItemPriceV1" but the server needs "ReadMultiple" - ( which seems sensible of Delphi as the resource that it uses is called NAV_CustomerItemPriceV1) Despite further manual changes to the WSDL and to the code generated by Delphi, I can't force a change in this tag. Hi I'm struggling to enter a Null value into a field with a Firedac ExecSQL Update. My code to update a record looks like this: dm.fdc.ExecSQL( 'UPDATE tbCalendar SET EventDate = :pEd, Event = :pEv, EventTime = :pEt, Venue = :pVe, EventType = :pEvt, [Order] = :pOr, Competition = :pCo ' + ' WHERE ID = :pID', [ dDate, edEvent.Text, edTime.Text, cbVenue.Text, cbType.Text, StrToInt(cbOrder.Text), Null, iMatchID ]); 'dm.fdc' is the connection in a Data Module (dm). The 'Competition' field is not filled in by the User so needs to be assigned a Null value. Adding a new record does this by default but if the user has added a value and then wants to remove it I need to assign a Null back to the field. The above code has worked but at other times gives an error message: ..' data type is unknown... Specify TFDParam.DataType or assign TFDParam value before Prepare/Execute call.' But what DataType is Null and how does that code look? I've searched for how to do this but can't find a clear result. I've seen that you can assign Null to a field using 'Clear', but how does this get implemented. I've tried dm.fdcCalendar.Edit; dm.fdcCalendar.FieldByName('Competition').Clear; dm.fdcCalendar.Post; And that gives an error - '..update table does not have a PK or row identifier, record has been changed/deleted by another user' which is of little or no help as there is no other user as I'm testing. The Embarcadero wikipedia help is of little help, fofr some reason it refrains from giving code examples on most items I look up. And other sources, whilst nearly echoing what my issue is aren't quite the same issue.

I got an interesting message when I tried to upgrade my project from Delphi 10.3 to Delphi 10.4.1. It says I need to add "getit" package!. This is really a strange message. (There is no package named getit in my project group and I am sure I don't have any dependency to a package named getit.)

From a Github issue description for our SynPDF Open Source project: Generating a PDF via VLCCanvas and TPdfDocumentGDI causes access violation when compiled with Delphi 10.4.1 with record field alignment compiler option set to "byte" or "off". When this option is set to either of "word", "double word" or "quad word", the PDF gets created without errors. The same exact code works fine when compiled with Delphi 10.4 (patch 3), regardless of the field alignment flag. We added {$A+} and it seemed to fix the problem. https://blog.synopse.info/?post/2020/09/09/Record-Alignement-and-Delphi-10.4.1 Sadly, I don't have access to Delphi 10.4.1 since I don't have any commercial licence, and I am waiting for the Community Edition - which is still 10.3 IIRC. So I couldn't debug the root cause and fill a JIRA ticket to EMB. Perhaps some people from Delphi-Praxis may have encountered this issue, and found the root cause... Maybe it is was a real fix introduced in 10.4.1, and the previous behavior was incorrect: perhaps an explicit {$A+} is required when working with records... but at least, it breaks existing code, so spreading the info may help...
