Delphi on Windows 10 HOME 64-bit?

Recommended Posts

Got me a Mac (MacBook Pro 16") with Parallels and installed Windows 10 HOME 64-bit in a Parallels VM.

Is Windows 10 Home 64-bit good enough to run Delphi 10.3.3+ without problems or should I upgrade to Windows 10 PRO?

Yes

Are there any other considerations worth mentioning when deciding which Windows version to use for Delphi?

If you want to build web applications with Delphi, you'll probably want IIS.

TMS Web also seems to be a good choice for building web applications.

If you want to use Hyper-V for virtualization, you need Pro.

You can use VirtualBox instead.

If you ever would need to join a company network, Pro is needed.

Though it should be OK, i recommend to drop Windows 10 Home and go shopping in ebay, buy Pro or enterprise, hell why not Server 2016 Data Center !

Microsoft policy about those from their Support is so simple, if they activate online then they are legit !, i bought more than 20 Windows license from ebay , some already working for 5 years on servers 24/7

So don't waste your time wondering : will Home be enough ?

How can they make it so cheap? Do these licenses really work?

They work like any other.

Why are they cheap because they were sold in bulk by some OEM companies, those companies are not around any more, Microsoft knows about them and want them cheap, of course can stop them any time.

But will not stop them after online activation, so mark it shipped for the ebay seller only after you activate them.

For something around $5 lets them revoke it every month !

My first one was Server 2012 R2 and it is still running after 5 years and it is updating fine all the time, can't remember the cost now, but it saved me 20 euro per month on hosted Windows Server, and it was the one i asked the Microsoft support about it, their answer was not clear, the answer can be shorted to if it does validate then it is fine.
