Getit update

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm used with git and take updated 3rd parties repositories.

With Sydney I've begun to use GetIt, for eg. with SynEdit.

How Getit is supposed to manage the updates ?

Looking at the Getit web page synedit is update to 20 december.

In my Getit syndey page the date is previous september.

Catalog repositories don't have git so I need to uninstall and reinstall the packegs with Getit ?

sometimes only some "files" is changed, not all suite!

if fact, many suite is a "zip" files that is uncompressed and copy/installed by IDE!

  • see your PUBLIC\...\Embarcadero\ CATALOG REPOSITORY folder

AS in many company, only the "build" with relevante or necessary changes is "re-republished"... as the Microsoft Cumulate Updates or Embarcader Patches (if not the complete new edition) :classic_love:

TurboPack SynEdit is available via the GetIt Package Manager where you can quickly and easily install and uninstall it.

To manually install TurboPack SynEdit into your IDE, take the following steps:

  1. Unzip the release files into a directory (e.g., d:\SynEdit).

  2. Start RAD Studio.

  3. Add the source subdirectory (e.g., d:\SynEdit\source) to the IDE's library path. For CBuilder, add the hpp subdirectory (e.g., d:\SynEdit\source\hpp\Win32\Release) to the IDE's system include path.

  4. Open & install the designtime package specific to the IDE being used. The IDE should notify you the components have been installed.
