I understand that Webroot COULD be the problem. But the biggest clues I am finding is that I just recently applied a WIndows update. AND I can't delete the file unless I do Shift-delete. This delete clue makes sense why I can't build by exe because it's having a problem deleting the existing exe before creating the new one.

Hello, it does not seem like this has been resolved. I am also experiencing this extremely frustrating problem. I am using Delphi 2010. I also have Webroot SecureANywhere installed. This problem just started happening this week. And I know for certain that Windows 11 applied an update this week. I must think that this Windows update is related to the problem. And like someone else mentioned I can not delete the file UNLESS I do a Shift - delete. Why is Shift delete different than Delete? Thanks, Joe
