Yes, there will be fixes for the template so save some space.

I agree that it is a symbiosis. The general intention is not to bother you - the users - with advertising. The frequency is one of the keys. If there is a conference or some workshops targeting Delphi developers, it is great when it is announced here. We also have a calendar for this. Even webinars can go into the calendar. When a component vendor has something new, he can announce it - given that it is not “weekly”. It is hard to define a clear line here.
-
This will certainly not happen. If you think that there is a post that is valuable, just give it a positive reaction. This is such a minor feature of this forum-software that I will not invest any time into it.

userName above or below profilepicture and not in Header?
Daniel replied to Memnarch's topic in Community Management
Can you provide a screenshot from a mobile device please? Or just squeeze your desktop-browser to force the switch to the mobile layout. -
userName above or below profilepicture and not in Header?
Daniel replied to Memnarch's topic in Community Management
Understood and accepted. Because of the full responsive design, changing this is a little more complicatet than 10 years ago when we had a fix layout with html-tables. 😉 But it will come (more or less) soon. -
Is there already a statistic about the new registrations?
Daniel replied to sh17's topic in Community Management
Yes, there will be some sort of statistics. But to be honest, this has no top-priority for me. -
Unpin Pinned Stuff for Recent Topics view?
Daniel replied to KodeZwerg's topic in Community Management
@Sherlock He is using the so called "fluid view". Pinned topics - read or unread - do stack up at the top of this listing, this is basically true. Easy solution would be just to disable the fluid view. Problem solved. No, just kidding. -
Modify my own Threads Title doesnt work anymore.
Daniel replied to KodeZwerg's topic in Community Management
You can remove any formatting from pasted text. The Editor will ask you, see attachment. -
The basic idea was to give so additional information to other people answering questions. If you know that another user is working with Delphi 7, you don't have to give a solution with generics, for example. We could ask this question about the Delphi-version in use for each and every (technical) topic, but history learned us, that most people will just skip this input-field. So the intention was to make a "peristent" Information of it. I understand that this works not in every case, but it looks like it is working pretty well for most cases.

You already have this option. It is called "follow content". You can decide if you want notifications on new posts for those topics or not. (see attachment).

Modify my own Threads Title doesnt work anymore.
Daniel replied to KodeZwerg's topic in Community Management
First of all: Prefixes like “important”, “request”, “question”, etc. in the subject are superfluous. If you do not use them, there is no need to change them. And what’s the problem with the editor? It is compatible to all major browsers. If you only would invest a similar amount of time in correctly formatting your posts as you invested in getting a black theme to work... -
Users can create events. But the events have to be approved by staff.
-
It is just a configuration-option. We can change that whenever it becomes relevant.
-
Actually THIS template is “the one and only”. There plans to make a fine-tuning, but no plans to switch.
-
The intention behind "I made this" is to give community-members a place to present and discuss their projects. This sub-forum is not a place for commercial advertising - advertisements will be deleted.
-
ups. 😉 That was a side-effect from removing the group-name "members". Fixed. Thanks for reporting.

This demo-page has no stars or dots... I am working on it.

@dummzeuch: What about something like this: https://en.delphipraxis.net/wuppdi/ [do NOT bookmark this URL, it is just for testing what could be done] This page lists the topics from the last 24 hours. no pagination, just one list. It can be fine-tuned, but this is what can be done with the built-in capabilities of this software.

Any chance to see NNTP version of the forum?
Daniel replied to AlexBelo's topic in Community Management
On Google+, Marco said that there is something in the works. And if I understand his words correctly, we are not talking about months, just weeks until launch. I know this is a bit vague... but don't blame me. 😉 -

welcome to the community. 🙂 yes, people are different. some prefer the big global acting social networks, others prefer the classic forums. -
Maybe we have to separate three aspects: * content istself, usage and layout The stream "unread content" should list the unread content for you. From a pure technical point of view: problem solved. Please correct me, if I am wrong here. Now we can talk about the usage. It is a known "feature" - or whatever - that you have to click the fat black bullet to get to the first unread post. I agree that this is not perfect and we will have a solution to this. This is just how this software works by default. Now we can talk about the layout. Do I understand it correctly, that you would prefer an even more condensed layout?

As a first step, avatars next to posts are smaller now. Group-name for regular members is hidden now.

Daniel replied to AlexBelo's topic in Community Management
No, sorry. Absolutely no chance. -
I think you might have more success by asking this as a regular question. But you are also free to ask for a tutorial. I'd make it a question, but it is your choice.
