License Edition issue with Delphi Community edition

Recommended Posts

Hello Everybody,

I am currently trying to get started with programming and decided to pick up delphi due to somebody in my proximity being deeply involved with it, prior to going to them for help though I want to develop a foundation for myself so that I do not burden them too much.

Now I have somehow stumbled onto my first barrier right from the get go whilst installing Delphi, I downloaded the community edition from https://www.embarcadero.com/de/products/delphi/starter/free-download and got myself a free license key. But now when I open the application and insert the license key I get the following notification:

"Licenses for multiple editions of the same version of Delphi, C++ Builder or RAD Studio appear to be installed. Community Edition cannot co-exist with another product edition.

Resolve this by uninstalling one edition and removing its license, or installing Community Edition on a separate machine."

I've uninstalled Rad Studio and other similar looking apps from my PC now and reattempted the process a couple times but keep on ending on this notification. How can I proceed to gain access to the community edition? I am willing to reset my PC but would prefer that as a final solution.0

Thanks in advance and hope you have a nice day!

Impressive dedication 🙂

See if you can locate the Embarcadero Licence Manager somewhere on your system: LicenseManager.exe

If you can run that, then you should be able to delete any prior license that might be in conflict with the new one.

If everything else fails then you can try to delete all the license info manually. I believe it's in C:\ProgramData\Embarcadero\.licenses

Note that this contains the license data for all Embarcadero products on your system so be careful.
