What decides which Splash screen resolution image is displayed

When specifying the multiple resolution images in the project's options page, there doesn't seem to be any relations between the device's screen resolution and the resolution of the splash image.

 

For example, on a Note4 device with a screen resolution of 1440x2560, the "470x320" (blurry) splash screen is displayed.

 

Is there a way to influence this selection?
