Mark Gorst 0 Posted yesterday at 03:21 PM I've tried the 12.3 April patch installation today, and run in to a problem with McAfee. I installed the patch ok from GetIt but when I fire up the 64bit IDE then McAfee treats dcc64290.dll as a threat and quarantines the file. I tried installing as a patch with the run-time scan temporarily disabled - but it will still remove it when starting the 64bit IDE. I can carry on working in 32bit IDE which is fine, but a fix would be good. Has anyone else experienced this ?.... and fixed it. I appreciate it's really a false positive in McAfee and I will also approach from that end. It's not been an issue on another machine where McAfee was not present. Mark Gorst 0 Posted yesterday at 03:32 PM Ok. Perhaps I should have checked McAfee before posting. Been using it since the 90s and the first time I've had to explicitly list a file as an exception to anti-virus checking. Even had to look up how to do it. Still at least that should help someone else if they run into the same issue. Mark Share this post Link to post
Brian Evans 122 Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM (edited) Most Antivirus software also have a way to submit false positives for further analysis. If they agree they white list the file names and hashes that otherwise trigger their heuristics based scanning engine. Helps others and you don't have to maintain commercial applications in your own whitelist long term. Edited yesterday at 04:49 PM by Brian Evans Share this post Link to post
