using tzdb to get the gmt offset.

Has anybody here used the tzdb project to retrieve the gmt offset as in gmt -6 etc.  as in gmt -X for America/Havana or any other example that you can think of?  FYI tzdb is located at Code Examples · pavkam/tzdb Wiki · GitHub

It's specific to Windows, but I am just reading the registry from HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones for all the timezones and offsets.

...or the slightly less hacky method: EnumDynamicTimeZoneInformation and friends.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I still have to support Windows 7, so I can't use it.
