True about MySQL, @Arnaud Bouchez it is, but only with a couple of IFs.

what do you mean by "a couple of IFs" ? 🙂 that it is not reliable in practice / in all cases ?
(I have seen Oracle databases instances down and having crunched data so I don't expect MySQL to be more reliable)

@Arnaud Bouchez, ok i'm sorry but i do not have time to do research. Last time i was involved in a MySQL project we could not use the OpenSource version out-of-the box. All installations needed to be amended and added to in order to achieve ACID. Maybe they have fixed that by now.

MariaDB - the fully opensource branch of MySQL (which is Oracle owned), is ACID.
