Kaspersky and Compile/Linking

Hi,

 

on my computer I have Kaspersky install by default and I cannot change that. I cannot even change any of the settigs, it's all under control of the system administrators.

 

They already added my major application (EXE file) as exception under "Trusted applications" but I still have the feeling it takes forever after compiling until linking is done and my application started.

 

Personally I would like to stop Kaspersky completely, but no chance for that. So is there another setting that should be changed on a developer machine?

Write a report to your boss that antivirus wastes concrete amount of your well-paid time, with calculations: say 2 min for linking * 20 builds per day = 40 mins per day = 8.3% of daily work time = $ 0.083 * YourSalary per month.

Aks if they can make a few directory/folder exceptions for you, should not be that big a problem.

The only real solution is to attack the source of the problem. Kaspersky.

Why? I use it (@home), and it works just great. 

TS has to make sure that he has a dedicated main folder to put his dcu's in, which then has to be in the Exceptions list for Kaspersky.
