CoeurdeLeon 8 Posted September 15, 2022 Can Rad Studio 11.1 and 11.2 coexist? Does Rad Studio 11.2 install over Rad Studio 11.1 or can the 2 versions both exist on the same computer? Thank you Dick Maley Share this post Link to post
Dave Nottage 566 Posted September 15, 2022 Just now, David Heffernan said: Yes I'm interested to know how, since they both use the same folder, i.e.: Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\Studio\22.0, same registry root etc Share this post Link to post
André Souza 1 Posted September 15, 2022 No, in the last email I sent to Embarcadero, I was asked to uninstall version 11.1 in order to install version 11.2. The solution is to have a separate VM. 1 Share this post Link to post
Matthias 7 Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) No. There is only one BDS key in registry for D11.1 and D11.2 -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Embarcadero\BDS\22.0 Furthermore the D11.2 installer will remove an existing D11.1.x version. As mentioned before: Use a separate PC/VM. @David Nottage: Sorry, you already posted it. Edited September 15, 2022 by Matthias Share this post Link to post

No. Embarcadero changed their versioning scheme in 11.0: https://blogs.embarcadero.com/rad-studio-11-is-coming-new-version-announcement-and-beta-invite-for-update-subscription-customers/ Unlike with 10.x, which were all major versions where 10.x.y were minor updates, 11.x are minor updates to 11.0, which is the major version. Only major versions can co-exist. Minor updates do not. Quote Does Rad Studio 11.2 install over Rad Studio 11.1 Yes. Quote can the 2 versions both exist on the same computer? No. Edited September 15, 2022 by Remy Lebeau Share this post Link to post
CoeurdeLeon 8 Posted September 15, 2022 This was my fear. I invested so much time getting 11.1 perfect that I am inclined to wait for the next major release to upgrade. Thank you. Dick Maley Share this post Link to post
