instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 The last time I used Delphi (Tokyo or Berlin), I had no issues. Today, I launch either and I am bombarded with Script Error popup messages. Here's a video showing the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFhZRzSKelE So what could have possibly broken to affect both versions of Delphi? I have turned off my firewall and that made no difference. TIA. Share this post Link to post

The Embarcadero website might have changed where the scripts it attempts to execute are not supported in the embedded IE browser in the IDE. Disable the Welcome Page and it'll probably go away. instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 Thanks, but as you can see from the video, the Welcome page is already disabled. That made no difference in regards to the problem. Share this post Link to post
Dave Nottage 557 Posted November 9, 2023 Just now, instrumentally said: the Welcome page is already disabled Ouch. I'll look into what else you might be able to do Share this post Link to post
Attila Kovacs 629 Posted November 9, 2023 did you accidentally changed the rendering mode for Delphi? HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION Share this post Link to post
instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 I don't know what you are wanting me to look for. Share this post Link to post
Attila Kovacs 629 Posted November 9, 2023 Yeah I see that. I wrote FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION Share this post Link to post
instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 I still don't know what you are looking for here... Share this post Link to post
Attila Kovacs 629 Posted November 9, 2023 try to add bds.exe with decimal value 11000 full version list here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/internet-explorer/ie-developer/general-info/ee330730(v=vs.85)?redirectedfrom=MSDN Share this post Link to post
instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 Well, adding bds.exe made A difference. Instead of 2 dozen error messages, I now get a spinning WAIT glyph, which after waiting 30 seconds, is followed by 5 script error messages. I also get some crazy content in one of the dropdowns. Attila Kovacs 629 Posted November 9, 2023 I see. Maybe you could try some other values, like 11001 or 9999, but I'm out of ideas if that's not helping. 😕 Share this post Link to post
instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 Changing the values makes no difference. Here is the solution: 3 Share this post Link to post
Vincent Parrett 750 Posted November 9, 2023 I can reproduce this here (only tested with berlin). Share this post Link to post
instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 I suspect Embarcadero deleted or changed files at their Community page which has broken this. I would think tens of thousands of other developers would be experiencing this issue too, seeing how this option is on by default. Share this post Link to post
Attila Kovacs 629 Posted November 9, 2023 (edited) What menu is that? Found it in the main menu context. It looks like I uninstalled (along with many others) the BPL that had this community thing. Edited November 9, 2023 by Attila Kovacs 1 Share this post Link to post
instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 (edited) Just right mouse click over the button bars at the top of the IDE. Edited November 9, 2023 by instrumentally 1 Share this post Link to post
instrumentally 4 Posted November 9, 2023 The issue occurs with XE4, XE5, .... through XE11. Share this post Link to post
Nigel Thomas 35 Posted November 10, 2023 I can duplicate this issue on Berlin 10.1 - and the fix posted by @instrumentally. CE 11.3 does not have this issue. Share this post Link to post
Wayne B 0 Posted November 18, 2023 FYI: Click on the Red Dx/Rx icon to get the main menu to appear. Share this post Link to post
