Mark Williams 14 Posted September 21 I have a licence for Delphi 10 through to 11.0. I haven't renewed my subscription since then. I'm trying to move my Delphi to a new laptop. When try and download any version within the above range from Embarcadero I am simply advised that I haven't renewed my subscription and the download is declined. I'm guessing there must be some way of doing this. Can anyone help please? Share this post Link to post
Darian Miller 365 Posted September 21 If you purchased 11 but your subscription ran out after 11.1 was released but before 11.2 was released, you could only use 11.1 even though 11.2 is another update to 11. I assume you should be able to download 11.1 in that scenario but accessing installers after your subscription runs out is a murky area to me. I believe they allow you to access the download portal only if you have an active subscription - so it's up to you to ensure that you download the installers you need and keep local copies before your subscription runs out. (Since you aren't paying them anything for ongoing support, you would be expecting lifetime free access to that large database of installers that they maintain - which seems like a valid argument from their side. On the flip side, bandwidth is pretty cheap these days and they are already hosting it for paying customers...) Alternatively, while you have an active subscription, you should at least keep a copy of their public download links so you can download them later as needed (for example, keep this link for the 10.4 ISO image: https://altd.embarcadero.com/download/radstudio/10.4/RADStudio-1042-4203.iso) Of course, they could change those download links in the future so it's best to keep local copies if you are not maintaining an active subscription. The best solution is to always keep your subscription active and up to date. It benefits the entire community by keeping your subscription current. 1 Share this post Link to post
Nigel Thomas 35 Posted September 22 Contact Sales. They are obliged to provide a download link to the software you have purchased. They did for me when I needed to re-install D10.1 Berlin. Although I did make sure I stored a copy of that installer in a safe place for the next time I need it! Nigel 1 Share this post Link to post

cupboy 0 Posted September 25 (edited) Thanks, but I found the files on an old hard drive. Of course now I get a registration limited exceeded and my sales guy has apparently found a better job elsewhere. update: By the way that Registered Products Portal doesn't work after your subscription expires. Nigel The confused sales lady thinks I want to buy a new license. Your software came off support in Sept 2022. If you would like to discuss migrating to the current version, 12.2 I am happy to provide you with promotional pricing for purchase by the end of this week. We are offering 30% off the list price for any license purchase. If you need an additional registration I can submit a request for you. Share this post Link to post
cupboy 0 Posted September 25 And check out what the other sales guy said: Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, both serial keys have not been on active maintenance for more than 365 days. You cannot renew the same licenses or increase the registration limits. Warm Regards, Faraz Khattak Customer Renewals Representative E: faraz.khattak@idera.com 1 1 Share this post Link to post
Nigel Thomas 35 Posted September 25 (edited) @cupboy Reply back and threaten them with action from whatever comsumer rights legislation you have in your country. In the UK it's Trading Standards. Refer them to this blog from their General Manager, particularly the "Policy Update" section; https://blogs.embarcadero.com/from-the-gm-new-updates-and-changes-to-the-registration-bumps-policy/ It really irks me when Embarcadero try to weasel out of their contractual responsibilities. When we purchase their product the licence is "lifetime" - the subscription element is an add-on that can allow you to keep updated at a lower price than buying new licences, but it is in no way mandatory. What is mandatory is that the lifetime licence for the product you purchased is honoured. Registration limits are there to prevent you from installing more than x installations at any one time. They should not (and in most jurisdictions, cannot) be used to stop one from migrating an installation to a new system. Edited September 25 by Nigel Thomas 2 Share this post Link to post
