Attila Kovacs 631 Posted December 10 Am I dumb or why can't I make the object inspector narrower in the newest IDE? I can make it wider but not narrower. Share this post Link to post

I wouldn't dare calling you dumb, but I don't have that problem on my installation. I can narrow the object inspector window so much, it becomes unusable. It's probably a difference in hard- or software or different settings. Share this post Link to post

I've the same behaviour. (D12 update 2) Also the Palette and Project ones does this. They are on both sides of the screen with the Palette under the inspector. (They use the same splitter) Lucky I saved my IDE desktop with the proper widths, so I can get them back to my default widths. I don't know why, but that doesn't make you dumb.. 1 Share this post Link to post
dummzeuch 1515 Posted December 10 Are we talking about a docked object inspector Window then? I was assuming undocked because you didn't mention other windows docked at the same place. Hm ... testing ... there is a sensible width constraint, but again, rather narrow. What do you actually mean by "narrow"? How many pixels? And is this a scaled monitor? Share this post Link to post

Scaled yes, docked, ofc, narrow is rather the direction as the size. Read: I can make it bigger but not smaller in the width. 1 Share this post Link to post

In my case when i make it large, like half way the screen, then I can make it only serveral times a tiny smaller, untill it reaches that strange minimum width.. Share this post Link to post
Die Holländer 49 Posted December 11 6 minutes ago, Attila Kovacs said: Same here. The only way is to close it by that little pin. Then when you press on the closed inspector tab it slide open and you are able to make it smaller. But i find it nicer to have it open all the time.. Share this post Link to post
dummzeuch 1515 Posted December 11 (edited) Since it works for me and doesn't work for you, this obviously is not a global issue but somehow related to your setup. Maybe you could start by comparing your setups: number of monitors monitor resolution(s) scaling is the IDE on the primary or secondary monitor Did you try different combinations? I have got: 2 Monitors: 3840x2160 scaled to 125% left of primary monitor (-> x coordinates are negative) top above top of primary monitor (-> y coordinates are positive and negative) 1920x1200 not scaled, primary monitor I don't have this effect, regardless on which monitor I put the IDE. (I have lots of other problems with the IDE though. Monitors with different resolutions and scaling are apparently not used by the Embarcadero developers.) Die Holländer 49 Posted December 11 For me its not a big problem. I already working a few months with it and I don't have to change the width of these panels. I noticed that in the debug layout it is working ok but it has also a minimum width. Share this post Link to post
Attila Kovacs 631 Posted December 11 it has nothing to do with the minimum width once you pull it wider, it _stays_ as wide, as you can't pull it back this is a fresh install on a notebook with 4k display, the only thing I added is parnassus bookmarks and the swiss made welcome page, i don't know its name Share this post Link to post
DelphiUdIT 182 Posted December 11 I have a monitor (laptop) 2560 x 1660 with 100% scale and a secondary monitor FULL HD. I don't have this issue in whatever configuration I set (like @dummzeuch). I can resize the panels and it's working. Bye Share this post Link to post
