Mike Torrettinni 198 Posted February 19, 2021 (edited) Delphi is 26 years old! And this: "...over 26 years has been used to build applications used by billions of people..." is pretty impressive achievement! 😉  https://blogs.embarcadero.com/26-years-of-delphi/  Edited February 19, 2021 by Mike Torrettinni 1 Share this post Link to post
Lars Fosdal 1793 Posted February 19, 2021 This means I now have 26 years of experience with Delphi, and I still feel like a n00b around parts of it. 3 Share this post Link to post
luebbe 26 Posted February 19, 2021 Same n00b feeling here. Started with UCSD Pascal at the university and had Turbo Pascal on my Z80 in the 80s. Share this post Link to post
Lars Fosdal 1793 Posted February 19, 2021 Me too, @luebbe. My first Pascal was Compas Pascal on Z80 - which transmogrified into Turbo Pascal for DOS and CP/M.  ... checks himself for lichen and moss growth again... Share this post Link to post
microtronx 38 Posted February 19, 2021 ... wow, I also know that old DOS - blue background Turbo Pascal .. crazy. It feels like i worked with it "last year" ... so it feels like only 1-2 years of experience 😉 Share this post Link to post
Lars Fosdal 1793 Posted February 19, 2021 Did any of you ever try Alice Pascal? Fascinating syntax enforcing IDE from the same era. https://www.templetons.com/brad/alice.html Share this post Link to post
Clément 148 Posted February 19, 2021 Also started with Turbo Pascal , Turbo C, Paradox et al. ... since then always learning something new everyday Share this post Link to post
luebbe 26 Posted February 19, 2021 (edited) ... removes moss which was hidden under the corona haircut... Â I'm pretty sure that a friend of mine had alice pascal on the atari. Still got my Apple //e with the Z80 card. I wonder, if the CP/M disks still boot. Maybe they do, but I don't have a monitor for the Apple anymore.
