Wouldn't be nice to enable Discussions on github for indy ?

What would you discuss? If you're looking to report an issue, or request an enhancement, use the issues page.

Not everything is an issue or an enhancement request. It's common to have discussions enabled so a topic can be debated before it becomes a task - if ever.

It's a question of how you manage a project but if Remy prefers everything in one place then it should stay that way since the issue list is primarily a tool for the maintainers, not for the users.

Personally I prefer questions and other chit-chat in the discussions. I manage a lot of different projects and I need the issue lists to only show me work items.

My personal opinion is that having too many discussion points on a single topic is counterproductive.
Having n. Forums, githubs and maybe personal blogs could be dispersive for the information and discussions that you want to "carry forward".
And in this particular case, the main actor that is Remy should disperse a lot of energy on a multitude of discussion "sites" (which in fact he already does).
The idea is not "evil", but there are already several possible discussion points (for example one of these is this forum) with a dedicated section.

I would appreciate it if the Indy discussions, along with other third-party components, could remain here on this forum.

Since installing these components, I’ve primarily been using them, but I still enjoy following the discussions.

If these conversations shift to other platforms like GitHub, I propably would not bookmark them all and visit them.

I love this forum, but I believe discussions about an open-source project should take place where the sources are. As long as the project remains of interest, it will always be easy for anyone to read the archives and find solutions.
