    Delphi Icons with Version Info

After getting tired of clicking the wrong one, I created some simple taskbar icons for Delphi with an apparent version shown. Currently there are icons for Delphi 10 Seattle Delphi 10.1 Berlin Delphi 10.2 Tokyo Delphi 10.3 Rio Delphi 10.4 Sydney Delphi 11 Alexandria This is an example for Delphi 11: And this is what my taskbar now looks like: All these icons are available on GitHub: https://github.com/UweRaabe/DelphiIcons

The same thing they always do: GREAT WORK. We all owe a lot to them. THANK YOU, beta testers. But, as we've seen over the years, releases from EMB still seem to have regressions. No?
  3. I'm desperately seeking for this information. Our Delphi is installed on a secured network and I need to provide inbound and outbound UDP/TCP ports that need to be opened for RAD studio to work. Same question about proxy settings. Anyone know how to get this ? (Already asked Embarcadero support and never got an answer...). Thanks PS:please don't tell me to install Wireshark and monitor everything... This should not be done by Embarcadero's customers

Thanks for the clarification. Just in case anybody has got problems understanding what Uwe wrote: Eigenschaften -> Properties Verknüpfungen -> Shortcuts Anderes Symbol -> Change Icon
  5. Look at TMessageManager class (System.Messaging unit). They implemented a class var for the default manager and a class property with a getter that initialize the call var if not already done, then return the instance.

Should I agree with this Licence?
  7. I've extracted the steps from the article into this: https://github.com/DelphiWorlds/HowTo/tree/main/Solutions/AndroidLowerVersions Can you confirm you've followed the steps exactly? Check that the generated AndroidManifest.xml has the correct value for minSdkVersion, and perhaps post a screenshot here of your NDK settings.
  8. I totally agree. It frustrates me to no end to see and hear about problems in the product but not have any response or idea when they'll get resolved, if a feature is dropped, what the priority is, or ANYTHING. Just someone saying, "sorry it's late, we're working on it but are slammed" or something would be better than silence. So often, I see businesses just trying to pretend everything is OK when customers are clamoring for answers. I always give my customers reasons for being late, even if they've heard them before--they appreciate knowing I'm still alive and are listening to their cries.

Maybe @Uwe Raabe tried to suggest that the beta testers gained access to the repository and instead of QP they were able to check in solution for all the bugs in Jira.

    Delphi 11.1 is available

Found and reported load of bugs that haven't been fixed and aren't in the public QP.

We have no idea as it's most probably sealed by NDA agreement.

Delphi on Windows 11 on MacBook Pro 16 (2021)

I did something similar the other day, installed Win11 into a HyperV container + Delphi 11 Trial with Android SDK, connected my phone via WLAN debug to the system, added a button to the form, F9 and voila, app is running on the phone. Brilliant. It's just slow AF as I'm on my old notebook 😉

Delphi on Windows 11 on MacBook Pro 16 (2021)

Is that a Windows 11 ARM running in a VM on a 3000 EUR MAC emulating x86 to run RAD Studio? 🙈 That will be nice! 😉

That is exactly what the Community Edition is.

    Updated Community Edition

Even later, there were the Turbo Explorer Editions (Delphi 2006) which were also free.

Anybody remembers when Delphi 6 had the "Personal" edition that was completely FREE? I started from there.

    rtl280.bpl not found in 11.1

For the last 10 years, I used to export Delphi reg keys (help, variables, experts, ide packaged, package and all libraries path). That saved my time today as all libraries path where screwed...

And, after having installed CodeSite from GetIt, programs using it won't compile. "Unit 'CodeSiteLogging' not found. Trying to uninstall it fails too. Clearly my installation failed. Thanks, EMB. You probably more than doubled the time it takes me to migrate.

Parnassus add-ins are currently unavailable in GetIt Package Manager for Rad Studio 11.1 🙁

    Delphi 11.1 is available

I posted a new issue since the issue occurs with the release build and my other issue had extra problems that may or may not be related. https://quality.embarcadero.com/browse/RSP-37603 I have narrowd this down to the Linking\Debug Information setting - turning that on in the Release config causes the same issue.. seems like a memory corruption issue to me (the app runs fine outside the IDE).

I will when they make it public - but much of the discussion happened on a private embarcadero forum.

So, literally one and half hour ago we finally switched main branch to Alexandria. And now this...

    Delphi 11.1 is available

And now comes the long-standing debate we have with ourselves: "Do I take the risk and download it? Or do I wait until some other poor schmoe becomes an unwitting tester" I'm soooo tempted to give it a try!
